On May 31, the final of the Europa League 2022/2023 took place in Budapest. In the final met the Spaniards from Sevilla and the Italians from Roma. For Sevilla the victory was not easy. The teams went toe-to-toe, but everything was decided by a penalty shootout, on which the Spaniards beat the Italians with a score of 4:1. How it was and where the team tends to learn together with king567 app and online casino!
Tough win for Sevilla or incredible luck?
Two real mastodons of soccer met in the final of the Europa League. Sevilla has already 6 times won the European Cup, and Italian Roma had an excellent strategy of the game, which has repeatedly confirmed on the field, coming out of the finals of tournaments winner.
The opponents’ forces were really equal: the first goal was scored by Roma’s Paulo Dybala, almost at the end of the first half. So Roma started to lead, but after only 10 minutes the score was equalized. And to blame for this soccer player from Roma! The whole thing is that Gianluca Mancini – Roma’s defender, accidentally cut the ball into his own goal, eventually scoring himself.
Nobody managed to score in the remaining time, as well as in the added 7 minutes on the field. The referee called for a penalty shootout. Sevilla scored 4 goals, while Roma scored only one of the four – Brian Cristante. However, one thing is clear – Sevilla’s goalkeeper – Yassine Bounou stands where he should. He perfectly repelled attacks not only in the penalty shootout, but also in the match itself, for example, he saved the goal from the ball from the deft Leonardo Spinazzola.
The course of the game and difficult moments
How the game would have turned out if Mancini had not accidentally scored in his own goal is unknown. However, from the very first minutes the teams played very aggressively, breaking the rules more than once, and that’s just in the first half an hour of the first half! One or the other team took the initiative. In many ways Roma were leading, more successful in creating situations for their own goal, but Bunu from Sevilla’s side was always on guard.
Sevilla also actively attacked and intercepted the initiative. There were a few unlucky attacks, for example Ivan Rakitic intercepted the ball quite well and headed it into the goal, but it hit the bar. The Europa League final was too different in its pace: at one time it was unrestrained passing of the ball, at another time it was putting the opponent and the spectator to sleep.
The same goes for questions about the refereeing: at the end of the second half, the ball hit the hand of a Sevilla defender. Roma coach Jose Mourinho thought that there should have been a penalty, and the Italians were given a lot of yellow cards, which the coach thought was unfair, but the referee thought otherwise. However, the final is the final: Sevilla won the European Cup for the 7th time! Sevilla is the club with the most European Cups – a record!
