    In today’s world of digitalization, Mobile Banking has also emerged as a convenient way of banking. Be it depositing a cheque, making merchandise payments, funds transfers, bill payments, or any other service that can be availed in the comfort of your home, office, or anywhere in the world using impressive apps. SBI provides a few mobile banking apps to perform banking services online, amongst which SBI YONO is the primary one. Some other apps offered by SBI are SBI Quick, SBI Anywhere – Corporate, SBI Finder, SBI Pay, Secure OTP, and YONO SBI Lite.

    Features of Mobile Banking 

    Mentioned below are features of SBI Mobile Banking:

    • Banking Operations:

    Following are the tasks that can be performed sitting in the comfort of the home using SBI mobile banking:

    • Make a Balance Enquiry
    • Transfer of Funds
    • Request for a Mini Statement
    • Making a Demat Inquiry
    • Opening and closure of Fixed and Recurring Deposits, etc.
    • Utility Bill Payments:

    Customers can make utility bill payments with the help of a smartphone using SBI mobile banking:

    • Merchandise payments via M-Commerce.
    • Immediate Payment Services (IMPS)
    • DTH and Mobile Recharges
    • Payment of Insurance Premium
    • Booking of Railways and Air Tickets
    • Via SMS:

    This is a free-of-cost service for savings and current account holders. 

    • USSD:

    The mobile banking services can also be availed by just dialling #595 over USSD. This service cannot be availed by CDMA users.

    How to Register for SBI Mobile Banking Services?

    Mentioned below are the steps to register for SBI mobile banking services:

    • Using Mobile Phone:

    Step 1: Send “MBSREG” to 9223440000 or 567676.

    Step 2: An SMS containing the User ID along with an MPIN will be received.

    Step 3: Another SMS will be received containing a link to download the app.

    Step 4: Following the link, the app should be downloaded from the Play Store or Apple App Store.

    Step 5: Log in with the help of your User ID. 

    Step 6: Post login, MPIN can be changed with a new MPIN

    • By Visiting ATM:

    Step 1: Visit any of your nearest SBI ATMs.

    Step 2: Insert your debit card.

    Step 3: Choose the option “Mobile Registration”.

    Step 4: Provide the 10-digit registered mobile number.

    Step 5: After verification of the mobile number, an SMS will be received confirming the activation of SBI Mobile Banking.

    Step 6: After activating the link, SBI mobile services are available.

    • By Visiting Branch:

    Step 1: Visit your home branch of SBI during working hours. Before visiting a bank, one should also consider the bank timings, it’s working hours and working days as per the RBI Holiday List.

    Step 2: Fill out the registration form.

    Step 3: Provide all the details required.

    Step 4: The bank will then activate mobile banking services.

    How to De-Register for SBI Mobile Banking Services?

    SBI customers can de-register themselves from SBI SMS Banking services by just sending an SMS “DREG” to 09223488888.

    Mentioned below are the benefits of SBI mobile banking services:

    • There is no need to visit the bank as the services can now be accessed from the comfort of your home.
    • It is considered to be safe and secure.
    • Only active current or savings account holders can avail of this service.
    • This service is free of cost. However, standard SMS charges will apply.

    How to Reset MPIN?

    Mentioned below are the steps to reset SBI MPIN:

    Step 1: Open the official SBI website.

    Step 2: Now, provide your username and password to log in.

    Step 3: Under “Menu”, click on the “Tab” settings.

    Step 4: Provide the old MPIN, and now enter the new MPIN twice.

    Step 5: A confirmation message will now be received stating that the MPIN has been changed. 

    Security Measures for SBI Mobile Banking

    Mentioned below are the security measures for SBI Mobile Banking: 

    • In case the mobile gets lost, stolen, or misplaced, your bank account is still safe, so there is no need to worry. This is due to the reason that no data gets saved on your mobile phones,
    • Contact customer care to report your stolen, misplaced or lost phone to get your IPIN deactivated.
    • In case the IPIN entered is incorrect and entered many times, the system automatically blocks the same.

    Do’s and Don’ts of SBI Mobile Banking

    • Do’s
    • Consider a strong password which includes a special character in it.
    • The password should be changed from time to time to keep it safe.
    • The SBI mobile session should be logged out each time.
    • Also, report the same to the bank in case the mobile gets stolen.
    • Don’ts
    • Do not ever share the mobile banking password with anyone.
    • Do not reveal any details related to the SBI mobile banking app.
